A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, and 200 hours unpaid work for sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman as she slept on a London to Birmingham train.
Bader Jilani, of Lonsdale, Wolverton was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday, 5 June, after being found guilty by a jury of one count of sexual assault at the same court on Wednesday, 6 May.
He was also sentenced to a 12 month supervision order, will appear on the sex offenders register for seven years and was ordered to pay £3,500 costs.
The court heard how the victim fell asleep soon after boarding the 6.49pm Euston to Birmingham New Street train on Wednesday, 13 August 2014, as she travelled home to Northampton after a day working in the capital.
